Something different

Okay bloggers. SO in my little corner of the internet world i cover a spectrum of things. One of those things include music. If you didn't already know I'm a musician myself and i love all types. One of my favorite things/groups to listen to are Barbershop Quartets. I came across a song "Cheer Up Charlie" in my MySpace days..woah i know looong time ago. But I've always loved it.

Anyhow, you can take a listen now. And listen with an open mind. Some don't fancy Barbershop Quartets, because of their close harmonies, but just remember folks..that's the point.

Old music.

The Average White Band. Anyone ever heard of them?? Well..i think the name says it all. They're one of the bands that's had a long run like Tower of Power or Earth Wind and Fire.(notice the order i put those to groups in). Anywho the lyrics are powerful as well. Take a listen.

Cosby Moment

Does anyone remember the episode of the Cosby Show when Claire and Cliff made up from a prior argument to this song and eating sliced fruit? No words. Just an instrumental. And fruit. That moment on television spoke volumes to me. Even though it was television the way the chords move on the piano or the sound of the sax just moved me. Even just the selection of this song was powerful to me. The writers really knew what they were doing.

lol really this song makes me feel sentimental. It reminds me of my relationship.lol Cosby like---minus the five kids. Moments like this makes the sad and angry times seem so much less important.

Anyway. Enjoy this song.

If you haven't heard..

There is talent in Nashville, TN. I was recently apart of the NEXT IN LINE showcase, playing the violin with group of other string players. Now being apart of that talent is one thing, but witnessing it is another. Curtis Fields might be my new local talent favorite(besides Tish). These are the two songs he performed at the showcase. Dream World and Black Cherry.

verdict

that's not the Lauren Hill we all know and love. i feel like she had little to none to do with the production of THAT song. and i'm so sincere. its like how they do biggie or tupac. putting they're already recorded voices on a track. but this one doesn't fit her words and how she's singing or even the content of the words.

its all about money in my opinion and who ever has access to her vault has no respect for her or her music.

i give it a D.
